Errol Milner Clifford was born with a significant heart defect and a cognitive disability that prevented him from walking or talking. As we grieved the child we had anticipated, Errol’s full-bodied smile and irrepressible laugh turned our sorrow into joy, and taught us that many of the best things in life are unexpected. Inspired by Errol’s delightful spirit, friends, family, and neighbors rallied to support our family’s significant emotional, physical, and financial needs, through countless acts of selfless generosity. When Errol’s courageous heart finally failed him on December 23, 2009 we were left numb with grief. In these dark hours we listen hopefully for the echoes of Errol’s brilliant laugh. This blog is the story (starting from present and working back to Errol's birth) of the life and times of the amazing Errol Clifford.

Surgery
Errol's surgery is at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. It will probably last about five hours.
I hope everything goes well! I'll pray for Errol and I am sure he is going to be even stronger once the surgery is done. I will think of him throughout my day tomorrow and will be looking forward to a positive report.
Dear Errol, keep laughing that belly laugh you gave your brother when he kissed you tonight! Very good medicine! Roman sends kisses galore, too. love, Betsy

I am praying for you Errol....you are the sunshine that lights up the world and brings smiles to each and every person you meet! My prayers are with you and your entire family and I look forward to the positive update from your surgery!
I heard about your story via a friend's (actually my old babysitter! Bet that statement makes both of us feel old) facebook post. I grew up in Ardmore and went to Reynolds and now have 2 small kids. Your love, humor and honesty shines through your blog posts. My daughter (almost 3) loved watching Errol laughing at his brother on your video. She commented how that was like her and her brother playing. We prayed for you guys last night and will continue to do so.
One more hour to go (it's 10:40 AM your time), so I keep checking back to see how he's doing. Thinking of you and Cary and sending you lots and lots of love.
