Errol Milner Clifford 2006-2009

Errol Milner Clifford was born with a significant heart defect and a cognitive disability that prevented him from walking or talking. As we grieved the child we had anticipated, Errol’s full-bodied smile and irrepressible laugh turned our sorrow into joy, and taught us that many of the best things in life are unexpected. Inspired by Errol’s delightful spirit, friends, family, and neighbors rallied to support our family’s significant emotional, physical, and financial needs, through countless acts of selfless generosity. When Errol’s courageous heart finally failed him on December 23, 2009 we were left numb with grief. In these dark hours we listen hopefully for the echoes of Errol’s brilliant laugh. This blog is the story (starting from present and working back to Errol's birth) of the life and times of the amazing Errol Clifford.

I recently read this article about a boy and his mother gathering around their beloved dog during its last hours...
This is what the boys said about why dogs do not live as long as humans:

He said,''People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?''
The Six-year-old continued,''Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.''

I know Errol is not a dog ;) but I do know that Errol had it figured out when he was born and has taught us, through your amazing blog, to live a little lighter and to smile because it makes you feel good and more importantly it makes the world feel good.

I sure do love you all and hope that time will make the pain into turn into something beautiful to carry.
The miracle and magic of Errol.

Music so soothes the soul, and Schumann worked wonders with this composition. Thankfully, sounds such as these have healing properties.

Remembering your sweet family with much love and sensitivity on this Christmas Day, which for you must be surreal. Blessings to you and big brother Owen as you go through the motions of this day.

With love and sadness ...

I have been thinking of you all and blessed Errol constantly. Please know how much your family has shown me and so many others about what really matters in life. Thank you for your courage, love, and realness.

I hope you can enjoy this day, that it is peaceful, that you feel the love of many embracing you, and that you know many are with you as you start the healing process.

I have been praying for your family non-stop. I remember when you brought him to our civics class last year and I got to hold him for a good 15 minutes! He was smiling the whole time and I couldn't help but smile too! After you brought him in I was grinning the whole class I swear! I will never forget Errol's smile and how he lights up a room whenever he's there. May he rest in peace.
Merry Christmas to you and your family
