Errol Milner Clifford 2006-2009

Errol Milner Clifford was born with a significant heart defect and a cognitive disability that prevented him from walking or talking. As we grieved the child we had anticipated, Errol’s full-bodied smile and irrepressible laugh turned our sorrow into joy, and taught us that many of the best things in life are unexpected. Inspired by Errol’s delightful spirit, friends, family, and neighbors rallied to support our family’s significant emotional, physical, and financial needs, through countless acts of selfless generosity. When Errol’s courageous heart finally failed him on December 23, 2009 we were left numb with grief. In these dark hours we listen hopefully for the echoes of Errol’s brilliant laugh. This blog is the story (starting from present and working back to Errol's birth) of the life and times of the amazing Errol Clifford.

I am pumped. I had a dream last night. I was driving out of Winston. I had Errol with me. I saw a large Catholic church. I took Errol out of the car, and down the isle with me. I had to get him back to you guys because he had to go to sleep, but in the meantime, I took him down the center isle. I handed him to the priest. The priest blessed him, and gave him an annointing. It made Errol immediately better. The priest handed him back to me. I took him to you. The next morning, I walked in to your apartment and Errol was doing better. Who knew!

Your writing has the tears rolling down my cheeks.
The love from you and Cary for the little man just.
The pure and utter carpe diem moments.

Errol... showing everyone the impossible means nothing to you. As you have said before Jonathan, Errol has already reached enlightenment!

I really believe that Errol has special guardian angels sitting right there with him in the PCICU-and I don't just mean the doctors and nurses--I'm talking about the real, heaven sent kind. All I want for Christmas is for Errol to get better.

We went to the chidrens museum today in Winston. I saw Rachel Kuhn, another person that knows Errol. She has been watching the blog. I am not sure if I have ever seen a family so surrounded in love. You are loved inside the family and in your extended family around the nation.

We are with you,

Peter

Just catching up with Errol after a few days on the road. I am glad I jumped in at the much more reasonable lactate level of 5.3. Goodness gracious, what a scary time. I am thinking about strong hearts, healing organs, dry lungs, well behaved blood and Errol's beautiful smile.
