Errol Milner Clifford 2006-2009

Errol Milner Clifford was born with a significant heart defect and a cognitive disability that prevented him from walking or talking. As we grieved the child we had anticipated, Errol’s full-bodied smile and irrepressible laugh turned our sorrow into joy, and taught us that many of the best things in life are unexpected. Inspired by Errol’s delightful spirit, friends, family, and neighbors rallied to support our family’s significant emotional, physical, and financial needs, through countless acts of selfless generosity. When Errol’s courageous heart finally failed him on December 23, 2009 we were left numb with grief. In these dark hours we listen hopefully for the echoes of Errol’s brilliant laugh. This blog is the story (starting from present and working back to Errol's birth) of the life and times of the amazing Errol Clifford.

Birthday Fireworks

We listened to a recording of Errol laughing, laughing, laughing.
We planted a peach tree for Errol - our little peach.
We shot off fireworks for Errol - who loved fireworks (until the police came and made us stop.)
We sat with family and shared stories about our beloved Errol that brought him (almost, almost) back to us.
It was a beautiful day. It was a horrible day.

I love it.
The police came. Really!
That is a high dollar band.
I knew Errol had a lot of pull, but I did not realize he had that much.
So what did Sting say after all?

Glad the family came to celebrate the life and memory of Easy E!

Your words allow the reader to be there... to experience, even if it is a sliver, of what joy, love and community that will always celebrate the life of this magnificent boy.

Hope you find more zippa dee doo dah moments as spring springs.
